Balance Exhibition

You can lose it; you can weigh it; you can strike it and you can be off it…
It is man and machine, the poster child for power, the mediator between freedom and order. It is the amount left over.

It is BALANCE and it holds art captive in this 30-strong independent group show at Tortuga Studios in St Peters on Friday 30th October.

The bureaucratic tank squats in the corner, its filing cabinet parts slick with disapproval of ‘the way things are done ‘round here’; a giant screw demands to be screwed in, oblivious to the confounding premise that one man is not enough for the job; the Jetpack Salon city transport network is all fired up and ready to scoot you across the city your hair protector helmet certain to maintain your ‘do; and whatabout… if your foot turned into a monster?

The third in the acclaimed group show series that tickle the imagination and champion the veracity and visibility of art in an industrial environment, the BALANCE exhibition sees over 30 emerging and established artists let loose in a gritty inner city warehouse to explore the notion of balance in the world around us. Irreverent, eccentric, beautiful, controversial and possibly a little imbalanced.
