Sharing Stories
Sharingstories is an online digital media project that has been designed to ignite positive engagement in the digital realm for students in remote and marginalised communities, throughout Australia and across the world. It facilitates creative self-representation through digital media and provides a platform for content sharing. The project also works to strengthen important, culturally appropriate, generational knowledge bridges by supporting young people in the recording of songs and stories with elders in their own communities.
High levels of digital literacy are a vital component of education in the 21st century. It is imperative that all students, irrespective of their educational environment, have adequate access to effective digital learning programs.
SharingStories is currently connecting students from two communities in the Kimberley region of WA, three in Arnhem Land, two in India and one in Peru.
