Andante by Younes Bachir (Spain)
Tashmadada, Open Channel and ACAPTA host Younes Bachir, actor and collaborator from acclaimed Spanish performance company La Fura dels Baus who will present “Andante” - a 10 day workshop in which Younes will immerse the participants in a unique theatrical language and process. The workshop, which runs from the 4th - 14th November, will culminate in a public performance at Open Channel's Shed 4 at Docklands on the 14th November at 6pm. The workshop, Andante began last year in Cuba, and is the result of Younes’s 15 year's experience from working inside La Fura dels Baus. It's moreover an investigation on contemporary european performance language. In this workshop Younes will expose the participating artists to his personal experience with the company of the different dramatic, plastic and spatial skills that are involved in the realization of the performances.Younes’s has been collaborating with the spanish company for fifteen years, during which time he has been part of the process of the specific ‘Furan’ performance language. This language is based in the synergy between disciplines and the coexistence of different techniques and perspectives to theatre.
Artist Talk
Younes will also give a free Artist Talk for Full Tilt at the Arts Centre, where he will talk about the Andante workshop and his time with La Fura del Baus. This will be chaired by Tashmadada's Deborah Leiser-Moore at the Fairfax Theatre Thursday 5th November at 6.30pm.
